Whistler Weaves

Amy is the maker behind Whistler Weaves. Born on the Isle of Lewis, she has always been drawn to the coast and ocean until she discovered snowboarding and moved to Whistler, Canada. She was inspired by the outdoor lifestyle and mountains on her doorstep and it is there that Whistler Weaves was born in 2018.
Coming from a Product Design background she has always been a creative person working with her hands experimenting with painting, crocheting, macrame, but it was Weaving that ignited the passion and slight obsession with texture, and combining different materials. Weaving gives her freedom to express her ideas through her designs and you can see the coastal lifestyle through materials selected as well as the influence of nature and of the dramatic mountain ranges in Canada from her geometric work.
Now living back in Scotland and settling at Loch Lomond her handwoven pieces are created from her studio where she dedicates full time to her craft and growing her small business. Coming in various sizes and styles Amy creates modern, woven wall hangings for any space and budget. Her inspiration for pieces comes from everyday life, interior design, colour trends, travel photography and geometric shapes. Amy welcomes custom orders so if you have your own vision she can work with you to create a piece that you will love. With many influences her style is forever evolving. She enjoys engaging with other makers and being a part of a like minded community, lifting and supporting other creatives.
