Olivia van Hooft Art
Olivia van Hooft-Young is a visual artist working from her home studio in rural Perthshire.
Having had a love of art and drawing from a young age, she went on to study Fine Art at Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design from 2010-2014. After leaving formal education she continued to work on her practice alongside working full time. In 2020 after being furloughed from her place of work, she took the opportunity to fully focus on creating, gathering inspiration and nurturing her ideas. Since then she has firmly established a growing creative and professional reputation, which has been incredibly transformative.
Although describing herself as a Fine Artist, working predomintantly in the medium of ink on paper, her style is highly illustrative-exploring the drawing techniques stippling and line work to create artwork inspired by her observation of pattern and geometry in nature combined with the spirit of our shared landscape and fauna.
Olivia produces original artwork, giclee prints and artist greetings cards, as well as commission work.
