Balgarvie Weaving is the work of textile designer Janet Hughes who works from her garden Weave shed / Studio using traditional skills on wooden handlooms to create contemporary fabric for home and accessories. Janet works completely with natural fibres in a conscious sustainable way. The wool Janet sources direct from a Borders Cheviot Farmer and spun at a small scale mill also in the Borders then woven on looms powered completely by Janet. Janet is proud to be able to give the customer traceability from soil to skin. Janet also uses home grown botanicals to dye her own health conscious colour palette. Otherwise Janet uses industrial surplus fine wool and Linen again sustainably sourced within Scotland. Janet offers a bespoke service for customers both national and international as well as stock for a few select galleries.
