Vicky Higginson Glass
Vicky Higginson is a glass artist, designer and maker based in Edinburgh, whose work combines hot glass and cold-working. Vicky makes functional, design-led glassware and sculptural pieces, all of which combine blown glass with cutting, carving and engraving. She enjoys playing with colour, form and pattern to create intriguing, tactile forms. Vicky's domestic glassware collections take inspiration from Japanese and Scandinavian design, with elegant shapes complemented by unusual and innovative surfaces. Her aim is to create handcrafted, modern pieces that provide a focal point to any interior, whether as decorative additions or sophisticated, functional vessels.
Vicky has over ten years experience as a glass maker, and has undertaken residencies at the University of Sunderland, North Lands Creative, Cesty Skla in the Czech Republic and Edinburgh College of Art, then going on to teach glassblowing to MFA Glass students. Vicky works from Edinburgh to produce her ranges of glass and visual artworks, as well as collaborating with and fabricating work for other artists and designers. Commissions are welcome.
