Working from her studio in Cellardyke in Fife, Vanessa makes sawdust fired pots and coloured stoneware tableware. Vanessa's work is all thrown on the wheel. For the pots she uses slip resists to create patterns and textures on burnished pots which are then sawdust fired in a variety of wood shavings from oak to pine. Vanessa also makes knitwear and oilskin bags. Vanessa's work is influenced by natural patterns, colours and forms found in beside the sea.
