Paper Houses Design
Paper Houses Design creates lifestyle products that connect people with their homes, themselves and their well-being. Inspiration for designs come from the everyday, overlooked, mundane and often thought of as harsh elements, like brutalist staircases or phone wires. Designer Mhairi Allan develops these ugly loves in to transeasonal patterns. Collections are designed consciously and made in an ethical way, honing craft knowledge and modern technology. Paper Houses Design focus on sourcing the best elements that make up the pieces to create ethical homewares and fashion accessories with a luxury feel. The cushion inserts are made in the UK and use British wool, an ethical and sustainable filling. Some items use leftover fabric from the production of other products. Proudly creating a useful item whilst reducing waste. The pieces are not just for the sake of having something, but they are beautiful and useful. They also run a range of workshops to help develop skills but ultimately offer a chance to use creativity to help wellbeing. Paper Houses Design deeply for every step of the process, their community and helping improve the industry.
