As a hons graduate of Glasgow School of Art in printed textiles. This discipline and the love of surface decoration through the craft of printmaking is evident in this work.
Work is inspired by the architecture, landmarks and Scotland's nostalgic and unique culture. LG Artisan images have a strong graphical aesthetic which explore rhymical line and positive and negative space.
An interested in marks, texture and linear patterns found in both manmade structures and in nature. Printing using this very traditional relief print techniques gives the opportunity to impose a very physical connection with the media through the carving process.
The hand printed process proves to be flexible, giving the opportunity to individualise every print.
Lino print and wood cut print give an echo of a medieval tradition yet still today still has an aesthetic which complements both a traditional and contemporary interior.
L G Artisan has completed several private and corporate commissions and is interested in continuing to develop bespoke pieces in the future.
