Kirsty Moyes Art

Kirsty Moyes is a mixed media artist whose practice is driven by curiosity, play, and connection. She works with salvaged objects, vintage tins, ink, handmade marks, and layered surfaces to create pieces that sit between memory and imagination. Combining painting, assemblage, and diorama-style construction, her work brings together the overlooked and the unexpected.

Working intuitively, Kirsty allows materials to lead. Layers are built up, scratched back, rearranged, and reworked, creating surfaces that hold evidence of their own evolution. Texture and composition are central, with each element contributing to a sense of depth and discovery.

Found objects are chosen for both form and history. By recontextualising these materials, she creates new narratives that feel personal yet open-ended. The result is tactile, layered work that invites closer inspection.

Words are a consistent thread throughout her practice. Text appears handwritten, collaged, stamped, or partially concealed within paint. Language functions as both image and idea—sometimes anchoring a piece, sometimes disrupting it—shifting tone and meaning.

At its core, Kirsty’s work explores connection: between past and present, object and viewer, image and language.
