Kate And The Ink

Kate has been designing useful, retro inspired, colourful products for her company Kate And The Ink since 2017. Kate studied product design at Glasgow School of Art and after having her son in 2016, decided to launch her range of greeting cards, notebooks and art prints to a wholesale market. Her products are now sold in gift shops and stationery boutiques throughout the UK. Kate finds much of her inspiration from retro design styles like Bauhaus and Memphis, where she is particularly drawn to the simple colour ways and bold shapes. Her stationery designs are useful and often start life through a design need; for example her meal planner/shopping list pad which was created in lockdown 1.0 when our shopping habits when forced to change. Kate also loves nostalgic references and in 2020 launched her first quilted wall hanging of a retro sunshine which has modernist and bohemian vibes. It has been super popular for children’s bedrooms and reading corners. Above all, Kate aims to create products which brighten up lives, whether that’s through art on a wall or a card received throughout the post. She would also love to help people channel their own creativity through colour and pattern.
