Hermione is an artist based on the Isle of Skye. An avid beachcomber and collector of flotsam led in time to painting the floats of all shapes and sizes that had amassed, these artworks now decorate homes and gardens around the world. The floats are painted with scenes inspired by Hermione's life on the exposed west coast of Skye and her surroundings of sea, mountains, birds and weather, with designs incorporating lighthouses, fishing boats, seabirds, and flowers. Many of Scotlands impressive fishing boat, large and small have also been commissioned for the floats. They are all finished with a protective coating which allows them to be hung inside or outside the home. All the rope details that feature on the floats is also completed by the artist, a skill learnt from an Orkney childhood education.
