Eleanor Symms Contemporary Jewellery
Edinburgh-based jeweller, Eleanor Symms, makes one-of-a-kind and small edition pieces which are sustainable, beautiful, intriguing and highly wearable.
Responsible making is central to Eleanor’s practice. Using reclaimed materials, especially plastics with recycled silver, her starting points are usually the shape, colour or texture of something she has found; sea-worn plastics or scraps of waste, which would otherwise be discarded.
Eleanor graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with Distinction in 2012. She is a Professional Member of Visual Arts Scotland and Applied Arts Scotland, a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, the Green Crafts Initiative and the Crafts Council and Craft Scotland Directories of Makers. She exhibits in the UK and internationally.
