Lorna is a textile designer and screen print artist with an established print brand, Blessed Unrest. Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art with a 1st Class hons degree, post grad diploma in design and a teaching qualification in Further and Adult Education, Lorna has worked as a freelance designer and educator for over two and a half decades.
Under her business name, Blessed Unrest, she hand screen prints fabric collections, textile artworks and makes/manufactures more functional products for interiors and fashion. Exhibiting and selling throughout the UK at design fairs, galleries and lifestyle retailers and works to private commission.
Blessed Unrest’s range of hand printed textiles and artworks make an immediate impact. The complex and skilled layering of imagery and considered colour palette work together to express a bold, maverick style.
Lorna has also been a valued member of teaching staff in the community and formal education settings in Scotland, a contributor and influencer on many art development projects at inception through to installation and a founding member of CRAFT -ED, Edinburgh’s professional craft education resource.
