Archipelago Knitwear is a small creative studio based in the Scottish Borders, specialising in knitwear and knitted accessories, founded by award-winning designer Angela Cassidy. Opposed to following trends or responding to seasons, Archipelago designs for longevity inspired by life, people and the environment around them.

Rejecting fast fashion and over-producing things that nobody needs, knitted products are made to order individually or in small batches, as required. Therefore, creating pieces that are made especially for the customer that they’ll hopefully cherish and keep for a long time.

Archipelago try to be transparent and authentic regarding not only how the products are made but how they have been conceived through communication of design practice & production.

Through stitch innovation and exploration in design, many fabrics are engineered to look different on both sides. This creates options for the wearer which hopefully prolongs the life and love for the piece.

Fabric options are generated from a limited yet classic palette, which provides a variety of colours in an efficient way without over ordering or wasting raw materials and results in a range that works well together - seeing colour options appealing universally to all ages and genders.
