ANNE MARQUISS JEWELLER
Marquiss is a graduate of Grays School of Art Aberdeen. She designs and makes contemporary jewellery at her home in Aberdeenshire.
Her work is influenced by modern architectural structures and their surface finishes.
She uses traditional jewellery techniques to express her ideas in silver and bronze, occasionally incorporating semiprecious stones. Her jewellery designs are pared back statement forms, with surface textures created through etching and hammering. Each piece is individually worked and rarely repeated.
Teaching and mentoring play an important part in her overall practice in supporting young creatives to discover their potential in the creative industries.
Marquiss shows her work in several galleries and shops in the NE of Scotland and has several pieces held in the permanent collection of Aberdeen Art Gallery.
