Aimi Cairns is an independent jeweller based in the North East of Scotland. Using traditional techniques, Aimi’s work features negative spaces and contrasting colour from the incorporation of patina and semi-precious stones. Inspired by natural local landscapes, organic textures and botanical motifs are applied to create sculptural statement pieces.

Aimi discovered her passion for jewellery design after completing three-years of short courses at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. Since then she has developed her practice for over a decade. She established her business in 2014 selling online, at craft fairs locally, in selected independent shops and had a selection of pieces chosen to stock the gift shop of the newly refurbished Aberdeen Art Gallery. Aimi has also taught regular jewellery making workshops in collaboration with local gift shops.
