Abbot House is a beautiful ‘A’ listed building, dating back to at least the 16th Century. It is situated within Dunfermline’s Heritage Quarter and is steeped in the rich history of Scotland’s ancient capital. The house is instantly recognisable by its colour and is known fondly as the ‘pink hoose’ by locals.

Following five years of closure, Abbot House is now undergoing a programme of renovation with plans to reopen in a phased approach. The Gift Shop opened in August 2020 and is a beautiful retail space offering the very best of creative, local and nationally made products, ranging from jewellery to homewares to art to chocolate! These talented suppliers support Abbot House’s mission of respecting the old but embracing the new, offering lots of contemporary design within a quirky old building. Local handmade products are combined with larger national brands, e.g. Gisela Graham and Sass & Belle to provide ranges that move with trends and suit everyone’s budget.

As a heritage building each purchase made from our Gift Shop contributes to the sustainability of Abbot House and the ability to maintain the building for future generations to enjoy.
